Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Industry experts were brought together for our Expert Insights on Biofuels in Maritime webinar on December 11, 2025, held via Microsoft Teams, to examine the growing role of biofuels as environmental regulations tightened and the maritime sector advanced its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The session offered an overview of biofuels, produced from plant oils, animal fats, and waste biomass, and explored their potential as direct replacements or blend-in alternatives to conventional marine fuels. Speakers also discussed the international standards and technical guidelines, including ISO and CIMAC, that support fuel quality, engine compatibility, and safe operation. Insights from real-world fleet experience, including operations at OSM Thome, highlighted practical lessons in fuel handling, engine performance, maintenance, and the overall impact on vessel efficiency and emissions.
